Adam West: Well, we began. I had a dressing trailer on the set and that first day I had to walk out for the first time in front of all these grown men and women as Batman in these strange tights. What can I do? I've got to become the character. Pull down the cap. I immediately become a kid again playing Batman. You want to go play Batman and Robin? You want to play Batman? These adults were believing at that moment that I was Batman! So, somehow, I pulled it off; but, it wasn't really me. It was the fact that they'd all read, grown-up with Batman and they knew, you know, what it was and what it should be and they saw me in the costume and, you know, it was the world of make believe we were in. So, they really accepted me as Batman. It was a test for me; because, it gave me the confidence, the feeling, that this will work.
